For all of those years that I fought my parents, and my teachers in school, there's one thing that I can say that I have grown to love; reading! Okay, maybe I've always enjoyed reading, but it seems as though the older my kids get (and perhaps louder!), I seem to really enjoy sitting down, and burying my head into a book, or a magazine. Whether its the peace and quiet, or simply my desire to always learn something new, I have really learned to enjoy reading!
Now with this, it seems as though I have learned to enjoy writing as well. But perhaps you have come to know this as well from some of the "Turf Update" novels I've given you over the past three seasons! But anyway, I digress.....
About a year ago, I joined a Communications, Marketing and Public Relations Committee with the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA). As a part of this committee we develop ideas and critique our bi-monthly publication which is sent out to our members across Canada, and even the world. So when we hit a snag in the road during our November meeting, and had no author for an article to be presented in the February 2011 issue, I volunteered myself to fill the gap.
Once I got through the nerves of writing an article to be read by my peers, and professional acquaintances, I really enjoyed the challenge of it.
Anyway, the article is available to be read online at:
If you scroll down to the middle of the page, you will see the cover of the magazine, and you can view its contents online. My article starts on page 14, and does run for quite some time; albeit due to the fact that it is translated into french as well.
And by the way, my exciting news is still yet to come, so make sure you check back by the end of the week!
