Dealing with the hand we are dealt

Good morning everyone,

It has been a little while since my last post, but the overall message remains consistent; it is wet, the weather continues to be un-cooperative, but we continue to push forward.

For those of you who have ventured out onto the course regularily, you will note that our dam on the 12th hole, has routinely looked like this:

It has been a tough spring for the Turf Department to gain traction, and get into any kind of routine.  We have had to make tough decisions based on tough conditions, such as continuing to cut areas of the course, despite being saturated.  Sometimes, we must choose the lesser of two evils....

We will continue to address some areas of the course that we have not had the ability to do so as of yet.  Weed control is urgently needed, and will be addressed.  Trimming and bunker grooming will continue.  General repair and maintenance practices such as those needed on our irrigation system will also continue to progress.  The list is endless!

I figure with the weather we have seen from winter into summer, we are a good month behind where we would ideally like to be.  It will come....

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at jamie.downton@sawmill-creek.com

Let's hope for some consistent weather!
